What we link, and what we don't. We list resources with documented track records: third-party signals, peer-reviewed evidence, or community trust. We do not endorse pay-to-play directories, ABA-style intervention frameworks, or "neurodiversity-friendly" employer self-marketing without verifiable signals.
Language. We use identity-first language (autistic, neurodivergent) by default and follow community preference where it differs.
Affiliate links. Almost everything on this page is listed because we think it is good, and we earn nothing from it. The one exception is clearly labeled "Affiliate link" and carries its own disclosure. We will never let a commission decide what goes on this list.

TCM Security practical certifications
Plenty of what makes a certification exam hard for neurodivergent candidates has nothing to do with security skill. Webcam proctoring. Monitoring software you have to install on your own machine. A stranger watching you stim. One locked timer, one sitting, and a format that rewards recall over doing the work.
TCM Security's practical certifications are structured differently. These are their published terms, not our characterization of them:
- No proctor and nothing to install. In TCM's own words: "there will be no proctor or intrusive software to install on your machine." They monitor the exam environment itself instead.
- Multi-day windows rather than one sitting. The PNPT allows five days for the assessment and two more to write the report. Other certifications run shorter but follow the same split.
- Hands-on, in a cloud-hosted lab. You are assessed on work you actually perform, not on multiple-choice recall.
- A free retake voucher is included. TCM's words again: "We don't profit from your failures."
- Twelve months of training access comes with the certification purchase.
We are not claiming TCM built this for neurodivergent people, and we have no insight into their intent. We are saying the format happens to remove several specific barriers this community runs into, and that is worth knowing. Terms change, so check their site for what is current.
